Your local extension office is a great resource!  These operate at a state or county level and can be located throughout your state.  They have a wealth of information that is specific to your area.  Search the internet for "your state/county extension office or cooperative".   They often have free workshops and master gardener classes.  Also Try searching for clubs or coops in your area, sharing information and products is a great way to learn and connect in your community.  

The USDA covers everything agriculture in the United States.  They have a ton of free resources from the National Agriculture Library to guidance on soil health,  and how to connect with local resources.
